Mandatory Billing in the Restaurant Sector

Since June 1, 2025, restaurants in Québec that are subject to mandatory billing must use a sales recording system (SRS) certified by Revenu Québec and designed to communicate with WEB-SRM, the cloud-based solution that replaced the former sales recording module (SRM). The old SRM devices can no longer be used.

What the law requires

Use an SRS certified by Revenu Québec for WEB-SRM.
Transmit the data of every transaction to WEB-SRM through the certified SRS.
Give each customer an invoice (or credit note) produced by the certified SRS.
Keep the reports and records required by Revenu Québec.
